We’ve seen how filter bubbles manipulate our decisions in political votes or in vaccinating our children; how algorithmic biases reinforce discrimination by automatically disqualifying women for high-powered jobs or by rating certain minorities as high risk, just to name a few. But what is not yet clear is how to deal with these ethical problems in AI; how to evaluate value trade-offs and determine the right actions to take in building and using AI systems.“
